@the_jefferymead: Democrats aren’t enthusiastic about helping get rid of fraud because it’s not beneficial to them politically. If Republicans are the ones who lead this anti fraud effort and get credit for it, it makes it harder for Democrats to win elections in the future. So I think they’re prioritizing their desire for political power over making sure the taxpayers aren’t being robbed blind.

I think you’re being completely generous. It’s not that the Democrats don’t get to benefit from it because they’re not in power. It’s because they’re complicit in the fraud. They deliberately make these programs so open with very little oversight because they know that it benefits their base that votes for them. It’s the same reason why when they’re in office they massively expand government because they know that disproportionately their voting base works for the government. That’s why you see that black women working for the federal government at twice the portion of the population they represent. It is a very deliberate attempt to buy votes
