I really appreciate your perspective. It’s similar to us here in California. Places like Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and other states think of us as filled with poverty and crime. California is beautiful, we have our issues but not even close to how we are portrayed.

I'm Canadian but I lived in the southern USA 25 years ago when I worked as a nanny. I still remember how closed off the news coverage was - tv and newspapers reported on the town, city, and state you were in with some info on surrounding states and big news stories around the US... and then the rest of the world's news was reported like traffic reports. It was easy to see why they believe what they are told because it is the same way that they are conditioned with the belief that the US is #1... while the rest of the world smirks and rolls their eyes.

I'm curious how you're watching Fox News in Iran? Reason I ask is because, for example when I'm traveling on other continents there's barely any US channels you can watch and a lot of the websites from the US are blocked so you can't stream online.

I saw a guy on YouTube with a food/travel channel. He loved Iran and we got to see how he was treated. He met the coolest people and everyone fed him constantly. The restaurants were so excited for him to try everything and he ate at someone’s house too. It made me want to come there and try everything.
