My grandmas secret Polish Pierogi recipe, Polish Dumplings filled with meat, bacon and fried onions recipe. Would you want to try this? Filling: 2 pounds meatloaf mix (Ground Veal, Pork, and Beef) 5 medium garlic cloves 1 yellow or sweet onion 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 tablespoon paprika 1 tablespoon chicken Boullion powder (make sure to adjust for your preferred saltiness I like it saltier) 1/4 cup bread crumbs 1 teaspoon garlic powder Dough: (Made 55 pierogis) 4 cups flour 1 egg 1 cup warm water 1 tablespoon olive oil 1. Mix the meat breadcrumbs and seasonings all together in a bowl, add a splash of warm water to help it come together. 2. Add in all ingredients for dough, gradually dump the water in small batches while mixing the flour to avoid it from clumping, once you have added in all the water and a rough dough has formed you can move it to a work surface to knead it. If it is sticking to the board add more flour. 3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it will not stick to anything but all the flour is incorporated, you do not want the dough to have too much flour or else you won’t be able to seal the meat in. 4. Section your dough into 4 pieces and hide the other ones under a damp towel and sprinkle them with flour so they don’t dry out 5. Using a rolling pin make a large sheet of dough you do not want this too thick but you do not want it too thin because it will break. Using the rim of a glass you can cut out circles with the dough and start filling the dough with meat. 6. With the leftover dough you did not cut circles with you can re roll it into another sheet and make circles out of that 7. Fill with meat 8. Place in boiling water, do not over crowd the pot and cook for about 8 minutes until the meat is fully cooked and the pierogis are floating 9. Take them out, mix with some butter so they don’t stick to each other and serve with bacon and caramelized onions overtop and some sour cream, Enjoy! #pierogi #dumplings #polishfood #recipesoftiktok
