Primary school teacher here. Last year I had a kid with parents that despised each other and they wanted separate slots as well. I told them that I’m not having a talk about the same kid twice and they need to come together. Like, you can sit in the same room and listen to me talk for 15-20 minutes it’s not that hard.

Will there ever be one where the husband is the sane parent? For example there are many reasonable reasons a dad puts a boundary up about meeting with schools at the same time as mom.

Oh it's really sad when some parents can't get on amicably for the little one. Makes it hard for everyone and breaks my heart when you witness it:( sometimes it happens but it's always nice to see when parents split they can be there together for their child/children

My ex would use opportunities like parents evenings to further his emotional abuse on both myself and the kids, and I didn’t want his behavior reflecting on me anymore. So now I choose to do everything separate whenever possible. 😌

In this case, the father is clearly being immature. But speaking as someone who is divorced and remarried with 3 kids of my own and 1 bonus daughter, neither my husband nor I attend parent-teacher interviews with our exes. My husband and I attend together and then the exes book their own sessions with the teachers.
