@pennieyaz: One of the best things I’ve learned in therapy … “I can love someone unconditionally” means your love for someone doesn’t necessarily disappear because they struggle, disappoint you, hurt you, or because the relationship ends. You don’t have to turn someone into a bad person in order to justify leaving. You can still care about them, hope they’re okay, remember the good parts, and even love them. “Without living without conditions” means that loving them does not require you to accept every behavior in order to prove that love. A relationship can have conditions: I need honesty. I need to feel safe. I won’t stay around substance abuse. I need mutual effort. I need my boundaries respected. If those things repeatedly don’t happen, I may have to leave—even if I still love you. That’s very different from saying, “I’ll only love you if you behave the way I want.” #healing #divorce #Love #movingon #peace
