‼️ MAN EJECTED FROM GOLIATH ROLLER COASTER AT SIX FLAGS IDENTIFIED AS 42-YEAR-OLD ATLANTA MAN; FOUR OTHERS REPORTEDLY INJURED The man who tragically died after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia has been identified as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Atlanta, Georgia. According to the Cobb County Police Department, preliminary interviews with witnesses and park employees indicate that Kariem was thrown from the roller coaster while it was operating, struck other park guests as he was ejected and fell to the ground beneath the massive attraction. The horrifying incident occurred Monday, October 12, at Six Flags Over Georgia in Mableton, just outside Atlanta. Officers working at the amusement park responded to the scene at approximately 3:58 p.m. and discovered Kariem beneath the roller coaster. He was unresponsive and not breathing when officers located him. Police immediately secured the area and requested assistance from the Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, which is now leading the investigation. Authorities confirmed that Kariem’s next of kin were notified. Four other people were reportedly injured during the incident. Witnesses described terrifying moments as Kariem became airborne, reportedly striking portions of the roller coaster before falling to the ground. One passenger, Logan Conner, described watching Kariem fly through the air and make eye contact with other riders. “Every time I close my eyes I see that man in the air, he locked eyes with us,” Conner told WSB Radio. Another passenger, Cassidy Delancy, described seeing Kariem slip from his seat, turn sideways and strike the roller coaster car. Several witnesses also reported hearing unusual clicking noises coming from the ride’s restraints before the accident. However, investigators have not determined how Kariem became separated from his seat, and there has been no official confirmation that a restraint malfunction contributed to the tragedy. Following the incident, the roller coaster was stopped, leaving passengers stranded high above the ground. Emergency crews helped evacuate riders, some of whom reportedly waited more than an hour to be rescued. Goliath is one of Six Flags Over Georgia’s largest attractions, standing approximately 200 feet tall and reaching speeds of up to 70 mph. Unlike roller coasters that use over-the-shoulder restraints, Goliath secures passengers using lap bars. In response to the deadly incident, Six Flags has temporarily closed nine additional roller coasters across six amusement parks as a precaution. Those attractions also use lap-bar restraints. Six Flags released a statement expressing condolences to Kariem’s family and confirming that the company is cooperating with investigators. The Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Georgia state safety officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding Kariem’s death. #fyp #foryoupage #georgia #rollercoaster #viral - @adiaz317xx
