Imagine the really good healers focus on the healing spell so much, they forgot the numbing spell in between the healing spell so you get extremely effective limbs regrow spell but you felt your nerves literally explode as it regenerate back in an instant

My character’s healing magic is arcane energy physically threading through skin and wounds and stitching up the harm… which means it closes the wound and heals the damage but it hurts a LOT

I also like to imagine it's a very guarded secret that a healer society swears every healer to secrecy so that it never gets out because once it's known to the general public the trick is essentially useless
