@townfactsnow: Imagine buying a house in the 1960s for $15,000 and being upset that you can only sell it for $1 million instead of $2 million. 😭💀 Meanwhile, younger generations are working full-time jobs, picking up side hustles, and splitting rent with three roommates just to afford a place to live. The difference between the housing market back then and the housing market in 2026 is actually insane. Sure, inflation has changed the value of money over time, but home prices have increased dramatically, and wages haven't kept up with housing costs in many areas. Millennials and Gen Z are out here trying to save for a down payment while paying rent that costs more than some people's old mortgage payments. The American Dream used to be buying a house, raising a family, and building wealth. Now it's finding an apartment with working appliances that doesn't take your entire paycheck. At this point, being born a few decades earlier feels like the ultimate housing market cheat code. 🏠 #HousingMarket #CostOfLiving #BabyBoomers #GenZ #HousingAffordability

yeah, my sister and her husband bought a house in thousand oaks in the '80s, they ended up downsizing about 10 years ago but they still sold it for about 1.1.

You know, it’s even crazier imagine making Pocket lint and two pennies an hour. They still have the same problem. We have just with less inflation.

Lmao they really don’t understand it either, my old neighbor just called me and asked how I sold my house so fast when theirs next to mine has been on market for months(listed for 400k) I told him I wasn’t trying to rip people off, I bought it for $219k and I sold it for $280k, and idc what county tax assessment says the house wasn’t worth $380k 😂😂

My cousins bought their house for like 750k because the owners got an offer for 1 million a year prior and decided to hold out to see if they could get more. The house had not been lived in for like 5 years by the way and literally the entire interior was brown. The ceilings were Brown, the floors were round, the walls were Brown. there were spiders all throughout it. I saw it soon after they bought it and there were old pills laying on the floor. It was a mess. I can't believe they turned down a million dollars thinking the price would go up

I’m so glad that in my culture giving your kids everything and being taken care of them at old age is the norm. The more I hear about American boomers, the sadder I feel for their offsprings
