47-year-old Rana Nofal-Soluri disappeared on March 19, 2025, after reportedly last being seen in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. She was an American Airlines flight attendant who had been on a leave of absence from work and was expected to return on March 31, 2025, but she never returned. A coworker reported her missing on June 11, 2025. Rana had been living with her former roommate, Dennis Day, for approximately a year. Day was arrested in June 2025 and charged with her murder. According to investigators, Day admitted to killing Rana during a dispute and allegedly transported her body to Montague County, Texas, where he disposed of it from a bridge. On June 13, 2026, a fisherman discovered what appeared to be human remains in Brushy Creek off FM 1749 in Sunset, near the Montague-Wise County line. Deputies and investigators with the Montague County Sheriff's Office responded and confirmed the presence of human remains. The following day, the remains were recovered with assistance from the Texas Rangers and the North Texas Center for Human Identification. The remains were transferred to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification's Forensic Anthropology Laboratory. On September 15, 2026, DNA testing officially identified the remains as Rana's. Her daughter, Lulu Soluri, announced the identification in an update to a GoFundMe campaign on September 29. Investigators also discovered home security footage showing Day allegedly dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body from his residence into the backyard on March 21, 2025. Authorities further reported finding an inadvertently recorded phone call and message on the phone of Joni Thomas, also known as Joanne Walters, in which Day could reportedly be heard seeking assistance with moving Rana's body. Thomas was subsequently charged with tampering with evidence with intent to impair a human corpse. Investigators allege that she allowed Day to use her truck and helped load the body into it. Rana's remains were released to her daughter and transported to Seattle for a Muslim burial, which took place on September 29, 2026. Rana was 47 years old and worked as a flight attendant for a regional airline owned by American Airlines. Her disappearance remained unresolved for more than a year before the discovery and identification of her remains provided confirmation of her fate. The criminal case against Day and the allegations against Thomas are separate from the identification of Rana's remains. #viral #fyp #foundremains
