@lookagain.tv: October 13, 2026 | Eastern Pacific The Pacific just had its most energetic hurricane season ever recorded, and it's not over yet. 🌀 Scientists measure a season's total power with Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE), which combines how strong storms get and how long they last. This season's ACE hit 318.8, breaking the 2018 record of 318.1. An average season is about 132.7, so this one is more than twice as powerful. So far: 21 named storms, 11 hurricanes, and three Category 5s (Genevieve, Lowell, and Polo), which ties the basin record. Hurricane Lala even struck Hawaii's Big Island, the first direct hurricane hit there since 1871. Meanwhile, the Atlantic has stayed unusually quiet. #HurricaneSeason #PacificOcean #Hurricane #ExtremeWeather #EarthScience

Fun fact: the record isn't about how many storms formed. It's about how much energy they packed. A few monster storms like Polo and Lowell can outweigh a dozen weak ones. Which storm this season surprised you most? 👇

As a mom to neurodivergent kiddos, I get to experience what it’s like to be in their world. To watch them mask so well out in the world, only to come home and completely fall apart. To watch them analyze and overanalyze every thought, every interaction, every little action. To see them torment themselves with guilt over impulses they struggle to control. To watch them get reprimanded for being overwhelmed by a world that wasn’t built with brains like theirs in mind. And perhaps one of the hardest parts is knowing how much of their struggle goes unseen. Yes, they are gifted. Yes, they are capable of incredible things. And yes, they struggle. Sometimes greatly. But their struggles are often silent. Hidden behind intelligence, good grades, politeness, humor, or the ability to appear like they’re doing just fine. We’ve become so focused on celebrating the gifts of autism that sometimes we forget to acknowledge the disability, the exhaustion, and the very real support needs that can exist alongside those gifts. And when someone says, “But you don’t look autistic,” what they may not realize is how much effort it takes for that one to appear that way. Neurodivergent individuals shouldn’t have to reach a breaking point before their struggles are taken seriously. They shouldn’t have to prove how much they’re struggling to deserve understanding, accommodations, and support. Because until we start creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals can exist without constantly masking, suppressing, or defending who they are, we all stand to lose the very brilliance we claim to celebrate. 🤍 #autismacceptance #neurodivergent #autism #specthrive #autismparenting
