@shannon.brown.aut: Back in August, I had the incredible honor of being recognized as Volunteer of the Month by Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence (BTSADV) for my work in blogging, fundraising, advocacy, and supporting the organization's mission. Today, I received a very special surprise in the mail! 📬💜 A beautiful commemorative award brick to forever memorialize this honor! 🧱🏆 I was genuinely touched by this thoughtful gesture. As a survivor, author, and advocate, the work I do is deeply personal. Whether I'm sharing stories through my books Because of Jane and Because of Maddie: The Girl Who Said "ENOUGH!", writing blogs to educate and empower others, raising funds, or helping amplify survivor voices, my goal has always been the same: To help break the silence, remind survivors they are not alone, and create a world where children and adults can live free from abuse. Being recognized for something that means so much to me is incredibly humbling. But what makes this honor even more meaningful is knowing that I'm part of a community of people working tirelessly to make a difference. 💜 Thank you, Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence, for this beautiful surprise, for recognizing my contributions, and for allowing me to be part of such an important mission. This brick will serve as a lasting reminder of the work we've done, the voices we've helped amplify, and the lives we hope to continue touching.
