early ones done have covers on the handles and usually contain a pat number or a early product number some even say what car kit they were in like Austin, triumph things like that the stamps on the tools quite often can give u all the dates or production when researched, hand tool restoration is my business thats what I do lol

Lucas pliers do hold some value. tip for ya anything that's seized tap.with a hammer breaks the seal of the rust makes it easier
