I think it’s less about attention & more about comfort and self esteem. Right now, you wouldn’t catch me dead in biker shorts and a sports bra. But if I was going to the GYM & felt comfortable enough, I’d wear it because 1. Better for sweat resistance 2. More air flow so I don’t get too hot while working out 3. I would feel good about MYSELF seeing my progress in the mirror. I do get where you’re coming from, I do. But I also understand the opposing perspective. Just because I want to be comfortable and feel good in my skin doesn’t give any man the right to assault me. We’re never going to get them to stop staring, but the way we dress for ourselves gives them no right or sense of permission to just do as they please. Same with a man who wants to take his shirt off at the gym.

They always want to talk about grape culture but imo this furthers grape culture more than most things. Anymore it is about a 50/50 split between wanting to be a victim and wanting something to complain about more than anything, some people aren’t happy unless they are complaining or fighting something or someone.
