@thatauntieronnie: ‼️Statement from Chairman Verlon Jose‼️ Update on the Saguaros removal at the borderwall in AZ, so far none have been removed as the contractors did not show up, but as it stands the plan still is to remove and “attempt” to relocate them, but The Center for Biological Diversity warns that habitat fragmentation is one of the leading causes of the extinction crisis, and describes the border wall as among its most severe examples. The last attempt to “relocate” the saguaros for the wall in 2019 ended up with more than half of them dying. If you’re in the area go stand with our O’odham brothers and sisters to protect their sacred land and their right to protect their religious and cultural traditions and heritage. If you’re not close, spread the word of the harm being done, call az state representatives to voice your concern, email. Eventually we have to be heard.
