We finished Seasons 1 and 2 of Pandemic Legacy and our small (but dedicated) group of folks that could stomach all the rules loved it- any suggestions along those lines? Daybreak maybe sounds similar?

As a sngle mom of 1 I really appreciate Boop pick. It’s hard to find games that play well with just 1 adult and 1 child. I haven’t tried Boop but will have to check it out.

Root is not hard honestly The instruction manual is. They need to rewrite it to work well. A 10 minute video on YouTube explained it and it was simple, reading their guide was a nightmare. I also played a different game from that exact studio and it had the exact same problem with instructions.

Brass and Root should have “advanced” or “expert” or SOMETHING to really differentiate them on a list that also includes games like Boop, Splendor, or Wavelength. Also not having trick taking games like LOTR: FOTR: TTG seems like a huge miss.

Daybreak is SO hard! like easy to play (once you know what all the symbols are) but very difficult to win

Root is a great game, but definitely not one for beginners—especially with all the expansions included. In that case, even playing at a basic level requires you to know all the factions. That said, once you’ve learned it, it’s one of the best games of its kind.
