Yesterday going to lunch with my parents we saw a rainbow. And the first thing my dad said was I just hate how the gays stole the rainbow. And I said Dad they didn’t steal it. You can wear rainbow colors any day you want. 😂. But it just makes me think like why is he always thinking about gay people. He thinks about gay people probably more than gay people think about gay people. Almost every time we’re together he has to say something about them.

It’s originally Gods promise that he will not do another flood. Biblically. Then it is just a pretty thing which I thing we would rather it be. A Lisa Frank. No one should have any “ownership” of something like this. We just want to use a rainbow because it is pretty and it has all of the colors.

I’m a Christian lesbian living in ID, and I agree with your sentiment. As a Christian, I have my views about the biblical rainbow that line up with the biblical reason (though I do still have questions), and as a lesbian, I love what the rainbow represents for our community: love, unity, acceptance, diversity, visibility, harmony, spirit, healing, hope, idk what else but it’s a lot! 🏳️🌈
