Parfümcüde çalışıyordum. Bir gün kapıdan içeriye ufak tefek, yüzü soğuktan kıpkırmızı olmuş bir kız girdi. Kapıdan girerken de içinden "Allahım nolursun hatırlayayım." gibi birşeyler söyledi. "Buyrun, hoşgeldiniz." Dedim. Önce yutkundu, sonra anlatmaya başladı. "Ben bir koku arıyorum ama ismini falan bilmiyorum. Acaba arasak bulabilir miyiz?" Dedi utana sıkıla. Böyle şeyler olur dükkanda ben de yardımcı olmak için "Tabi. Nasıl bir kokuydu? Sert mi? Hafif mi? Şekerli mi?" dedim. Durdu, gözleri doldu. Ağzından zar zor tek bir kelime çıktı. "Unuttum..." Aramaya başladık. Tek tek bütün erkek parfümlerini denedi dükkandaki. Sonra bir tane bulduk. Kokuyu içine çekmesiyle ağlaması bir oldu. "O" dedi, "Onun gibi kokuyor." Ağlamaya devam etti. "Kokusunu unuttum ama buldum işte. Boynunu ne zaman koklasam böyle kokardı. Çok aradım bulamadım. Onu da kokusunu da çok aradım gittikten sonra. O yok ama olsun kokusunu buldum. Bilmem ne kadar hatırlatır bana onu. Tüm dünyayı bu kokuyla donatsam yine de bir o etmez ama elimde kalan tek avuntu bu işte." dedi. Ellerine sıktı kokuyu.
