Do you know of any books about the War of the Camps, or more generally about what life was like for Palestinian refugees growing up in Lebanon during the civil war?

A tangential aspect of the civil war collective cognition that I think about is how little we are taught about recent Lebanese history and the dynamics that led us to the civil war and eventually where we are today. It seems that there is no standardized understanding of the last 70 years of Lebanese history, certainly not among the young generation, and that each community carries a fragmented memory of events. Maybe this is common in other countries too but if you compare Lebanon to the US for example you can notice that the historical narrative there seems much more coherent and standardized. But maybe that's because of the greater importance of understanding the dynamics of US politics with its global influence that mandates this level of cohesion
