sunnysideup :
While their catalog frequently touches on war, authority, and societal collapse, the band generally treats those ideas as musical themes rather than political endorsements.

to stop the show and make a comment about something political is inherently doing the same thing they are compining about

💯💯💯. Politically based songs have been around FOREVER. Thought based critically thinking songs is totally different than unhinged rant lectures.

Like ngl if I’m going to a concert I don’t really wanna hear about politics because music imo is my escape from the real world so a concert would be like an escape from reality for a few hours

Honestly people complaining don't know anything about metal or if they do they are not a true metal fan because a true metal head or alternative person doesn't give a shit as long as the music helps them get their the day or there life because that's what music is for it helps people get through life

The people that are mad are the ones that need to be told how to feel and are gutted that Metallica is not in that handbook.

this is like the one piece argument yes the show has political messages but why should we label anything left or right.

GB_USA Patriot :
the songs were not specifically written to be political. Its called song writing ie story telling

Exactly. Their themes have always been universal and above individual politics: the anger of youth, fear of death, horrors of war, addiction, abuse, mental health, corruption, etc.
