Carrie has been one of my special interest for years. Read the book several times, seen every adaptation multiple times. This show is fantastic and I love Chris’ portrayal in this so much.

What I liked about this version of Carrie despite it being so different from the original movie and book is that Carrie is given a chance to fight back a bit against the abuse thrown at her. I know people think that it would ruin the moment where she crashes out at prom, but I do think that it still works in a way that Carrie is allowed to discover her own agency and autonomy outside of Chris’s bulling and her mothers control and abuse. It’s a really fresh take that I don’t see that much people highlighting because of the changes that were made with this new adaptation.

I never watched any of the other Carrie movies. I don't think or I've only seen them in bits and pieces. I never really cared for it, but I absolutely love this series and they kept calling her Chris through the show so much that I wasn't focused on the Christine and hearing you say Christine. Christine, Christine, I just realized that two of the two most evil characters in Stephen King's entire novelhood, he both named Christine...

Chris had a mother who wasn't really there for her, leaving and coming back time and time again, and a father who always justified her actions, let her do as she please but never try to meet her emotional needs, together they created a monster that felt could get away with everything and had no empathy
