@geodudex: Quality of life in Mongolia presents a stark contrast between rich nomadic traditions and the realities of modern economic development. While the country offers a very low cost of living and a generally safe environment, it faces significant infrastructure gaps, with average urban incomes hovering around $400 to $500 per month and national life expectancy at approximately 70 years. The starkest divide exists between the vast, pristine rural steppes and the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, where nearly half the population enjoys modern amenities and international opportunities but suffers through extreme winter temperatures and severe, hazardous air pollution. HDI is not very good for non western countries. it doesnt take into account cost of living vs income. it considers purchasing power per capica so if you have dollars pounds or euros it looks super good even if your cost of living exceeds you income. where as if you use something like pesos, it might look bad cause its not very valuable but in your country specifically you might receive more than you need to live
