POA is so special because Alfonso Cauron is just that good of a director. he's responsible for injecting a lot of the charm into the series, and for giving the characters the colour palettes and clothing choices that would follow them through the series. christopher coloumbus directed the first two to be childlike and whimsical which really works for the first and second year, David Yates had order of the phoenix onwards directed the movies as very straightforward fantasy with all the appropriate elements that made the series great, but still rather simple. mike Newell for Goblet of Fire was a good midpoint between Yates and Cauron but Cauron was leagues above because he directed POA as a growing up/teen comedy while sticking to the main beats of the plot. it's why we get all the great slice of life scenes because he wanted the story to be about the characters and not just the plot that the characters were involved in. I really recommend people watch some of his other films, he's fantastic
