It’s because the child was wanted. If I prepared a cake, began baking a cake, and the cake was destroyed, I’d be upset because I wanted that cake. If I only liked preparing a cake, made the mix, made the frosting, then threw it away myself because I don’t have time to bake or don’t have anywhere to store said cake, I’m not upset because it’s my choice, I didn’t want the cake anyways.

Btw since most pregnant women plan to keep their children killing a pregnant woman counts as a double homicide because most likely the woman will keep the baby. If the fetus was going to be born, it is considered in that scenario as a human life because the mother planned on birthing them. Why does this still count for women who don’t plan on keeping their fetuses? First of all, it should. If a murderer finds proof that the killed woman didnt want her baby, that should be a legitimate reason to lessen a sentence to a single homicide. Second of all, abortion is now illegal in the USA, so the fetus would have been born either way.
