🔥 🔥 🔥 (gonna comment this in like 10 videos bc i really want you to see it, SRY!) Tat, you have GOT to re-write Netflix’s new series Below. Parts of it were SO GOOD, but the ending is so bad and contrived 😭 My dad personally thinks it should’ve ended with the billionaire winning and us seeing a time skip with the town being inhabited by the insanely rich and their kids playing on the beach… and baby squids are revealed to be lurking in the deep. THE ACTUAL ENDING IS TRASH AND FEELS DISCOMBOBULATED AF. It’s like they had two stories, and bc of a limited budget, they meshed them together for a four hour long mess. Plz plz fix it

this is why I love the short "There's a Man in the Woods". a mans life is ruined because a parent just lets their child run around making other children scared in a. act of pure selfishness. which isn't a crime of childhood but the failing of the parent.

Also, the scenes of Freddy teasing the teenage victims and making inappropriate comments towards them comes off as very edgy. They really needed to change Freddy’s personality for the route they went instead of their pervy version of his original shtick.

They really could’ve just had Freddy but like disconnected or more standoffish, have the staff of the daycare start rumores because he never wants to have conversations and just keeps his head down, have the rumors get out of control and make it to the parents and it had gotten so bad that they took drastic measures

Could of also add for a twist (but not twist) having a beloved teacher at the daycare be the one actually hurting the kids, and they pined everything on Freddy leading to his unalive by the parents, the truth comes out teacher is arrested You think Freddy is gonna stop NOPE he is twisted now he aint stopping now “you thought I was a monster? WE NOW I AM AAAHAHAHAHAHA!”

While I didnt like a lot of what they did which you pointed out, I will always defend Jackie Earl Haley's performance. He 100% channeled Englund's performance from the first two films before it became truly campy. Haley was fantastic in thr role.

I think a movie with a similar plot line that was actually done well was "the hunt" from 2012 with Mads Mikkelsen he was actually innocent and they twisted the children's words to make him guilty and hunt him down.

Honestly this is probably the big slasher remake that upsets me the most. I wish they had just had better writers and didn’t just do the typical platinum dunes studio crap. I think the only other remake that upsets me is probably the My Bloody Valentine remake

If they had any spine, they'd transpose Krueger right over the McMarten trial and show the parents as the rabid, bloodthirsty mob they really were. And the depiction of post-burn Freddy wouldn't play with his food; he'd probably barely even talk. Just menace, and stalk. And disturb, before killing.

There is something to me about wasting the idea of wasting the intersection between dream and memory in the movie it just… you could do something about the idea of parents being able to control the narrative that they tell their kids and how that traumatic cycle can continue
