It’s the same but different for everyone. I just always pray they get the memo, listen to their nervous systems before all goes out of control for them. I see it in others and I can’t press, but I do give them their space to think on it hoping and praying they will open up for a deeper conversation about it as they saw me go thru it and it was tragic and confusing for all of us. Many don’t ask questions, because they don’t understand and most importantly comprehend the tragedy of it even though they saw/witnessed it. It wasn’t slow motion either. Unfortunately, everyone had their own autonomy. I wish I could stop them in their tracks- but at this age, all you can be is a safe person for them to be authentic with. I just show up as best as I can while healing.

When I kept passing out, because i was working two jobs and had no way to pay for my thyroid meds that i have no say in anymore because of cancer I was pushing myself so hard to provide for my family and making sure they had what they needed that in august I passed out at one of jobs they think I was down for 2 hours before someone found me, when i got to the ER they were having a hard time keeping my HR and BP up, I was laying there more worried about getting back to work so I could support my family, until a case worker came in and talked to me about what I was doing to myself and that i cant be there for them if Iam dead and it finally sank in, I have been trying ever since to learn to step back and am down to one job my husband will be going back to work this week and I can hopefully go back to a part time gig so I can focus on getting better and homeschooling my kids better.

Two major stomach surgeries where they took an abscess and I had an open wound for 6 months didn’t even teach me to put my health first… it wasn’t until a had a complete meltdown due to 2 years of an unsafe work place, 2 psych stays and finally swearing off all drs and medical advice/ meds before I finally decided their way of doing stuff was hindering me not helping.
