The Bird We Didn't See 🐦 Sometimes the adventure is the real treasure. TW and I went birding in search of the unusual storm-petrels being reported around Utah Lake. We weren't the only ones curious! When we arrived, there were at least ten other birders set up with tripods, cameras, and some impressive-looking equipment, all hoping to catch a glimpse of these rare visitors. Unfortunately, the birds had already moved across the lake, and we didn't get to see the new arrivals ourselves. But the day turned into an adventure anyway. We got to meet and talk with other bird lovers, enjoy the excitement of the search, and even caught the attention of a newspaper reporter who was curious about what we were doing. She stopped to talk with us and said she planned to feature us in her article! We may not have checked that rare bird off the life list, but we came away with a fun memory, a little more connection with our local birding community, and a reminder that sometimes the best part of looking for something is everything you discover along the way. The bird may have gotten away this time, but the adventure was still a win. ❤️ #justanotherdayinparadise ##nicollestradingpost #birding #stormpetrel #rarebird
