@lerato_mvelase: discuss whether the 50-50 principle in relationships was meant to apply to the household or the workplace, and the importance of preserving cultural values around women as nurturers and men as providers and protectors.
This is about gender roles not about the innate nature of the masculine intelligence or feminine intelligence. We have 50-50 because of things like the industrial revolution’s that we are in. History says that women (nurturing) stayed at home because the system didn’t allow them to go work and buy homes etc. I don’t think we should go back to the olden days as there’s been dire consequences in these olden days. Our grandparents lasted long because they were dependent on the men hence we don’t have healthy family units today because our grandmothers warned us against being dependent. So my view is create a container for gender roles and duties that require two adults to create a functional home then relationship dynamics that’s were we bring in the masculine and feminine qualities that gives relationships it’s spark & maintains the chemistry.

The problem started in the workplace, how can you expect man to provide and yet you took his responsibility at work and that man is not working. the same man is expected to provide. The 50/50 is actually oppressing men.

I disagree with the perspective the lady in blue is asserting. Her point insinuates a situation where a man is wondering in the streets in search of a woman who’s gonna carry his kids and in return here’s your reward 💵. That’s not what marriage is, men are looking for partners who are willing not those who feel “obligated” to build with them. Where both parties give their all and are equal in a sense that are both stewards even though they may carry unique responsibilities. She’s talking as though after a woman gives birth the best u can do is provide, which in a sense is true and I stand for it, but what about the other things that women tend to want from their partner besides provision? A providing all for her a woman who loves u and sees a future with u will demand a lot more than just money, unless she’s just securing a good future for her self n children. Such a women will tell u money is the bare minimum. After providing all, what more can u do for the family u started when ur money isn’t dancing? Such a women will demand emotional available, a present partner n father, a good communication, a leader etc. if money is all u can do…it’s a pity for such a man because the day u run out of it you’re doomed

Western people are not happy about feminism either. They are realizing now that they bought pain to themselves in the name of civilisation.
