@jdesireerodriguez: Five years of hosting literacy festivals, and I still get the excited gitters before every event! This past Saturday was one of those moments that reminded me why I started this journey. As an author, entrepreneur, and Founder of Literature Matters, I have learned that no matter how much experience you have planning events, there will always be some uncertainty. This past Saturday, W.O.W. Fest, in collaboration with The DoSeum, reminded me that every hour of planning, every challenge, and every moment of uncertainty is worth it. 🥳The turnout was incredible! Seeing families fill the space, children enjoying live story readings, and our community coming together to celebrate literacy was truly a blessing. And somewhere between the books, the giant READ marquee, my author banner, and sitting down to share my stories, I had another moment of gratitude. I started writing as a little girl in the third grade, never imagining that one day I would be an award-winning author, nonprofit founder, and event organizer creating spaces for other children to discover their own love for reading. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing my gift while helping other authors and young readers find their voices. To everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, collaborated, or supported this vision, THANK YOU! And trust me, there is so much more to share! More behind-the-scenes videos, memorable moments, and highlights from W.O.W. Fest are coming soon. Follow my nonprofit page, @jdesireelm, to see more of the incredible work we are doing to bridge the literacy gap, one story and one child at a time. Five years later, the mission continues, and so does the dream. #AuthorJourney #LiteratureMatters #WOWFest #WomenNonprofitFounders #ChildrensLiteracy
