as a part store employee, if we don't select vehicle specifics then we get every option for every variation of that vehicle in that year. so if you have something like a jeep, with a million trim packages, that's alot of BS to sort through to find what your actually looking for

I literally walked in to a place to get some Oil and a filter I have the code for, only to be asked "Is it for the turbocharged model or N/A?" I literally stared at the dude for a moment and said "do you have the *insert exact code of filter* in stock or not?" Dude literally couldn't give me an answer so I went to check myself. Turns out, it was in stock and I gave it to him to pay. DUDE ASKED AGAIN WHAT CAR IT WAS FOR AND I NEARLY PICKED UP THE PRODUCT AND WALKED OUT WITHOUT PAYING!

the wiper blades is true tho, we work off rego or vin but if u put vehicle details in manually there's a thousand different options

As a former manager the “in the system but not here” line was an absolute disgrace. I had two guys quit two separate times when I told them to go look for it. Then they’d complain that “our old manager didn’t stress this”. Yeah HES NOT HERE ANYMORE FOR A REASON 🤦🏽♂️

I remember going in telling them the part number I needed and they'd ask what the car is. 1985 S-10 Blazer. Then came which motor, 2.0 I4 or 2.8 V6? Me, 5.7 V8. Sir that's not an option. Me, Exactly, please get me what I asked for.

I gave them my exact car make and model and told them exactly what I needed (my brother is a mechanic) and they gave me a battery way bigger than I needed and argued that I was wrong until my brother came back with me 😂

Got an AGM battery from there back in March. First one was dead of the shelf. Had to go back and get a replacement.
