I wasn’t Martinez’s biggest fan before tonight but I have so much respect for him after that. He backed his manager, told the world that we shouldn’t be blaming him that it’s the owners who are continuing to screw the club over. The squad depth is appalling. For a club that size, to have such a poor overall squad is ridiculous. It’s not about particular players they are good players but we don’t need 5 numbers 10s and only 1 striker. The balance is completely off.

We’ve spent money on awful signings, including Ugarte, Zirkzee, Mount, tielemens, Santos. And continue giving contracts to bang average players like Dalot, Maguire, Shaw. Martinez was right to call out the board, but he also needs to look at his own performances.
