@advangturesofus: Documenting my infertility journey 🤍 Today, I completed my HSG test! As explained by the experts I chose at CCRM, “A Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is a x-ray procedure in which a harmless dye is introduced into the uterus through the cervix and passed through the fallopian tubes. If the dye is not seen flowing into the fallopian tubes, they may be a blockage.” The procedure itself took no more than five minutes. My drive to the clinic was longer. 😂 But let me tell you, the “slight cramping” they warned me about was definitely NOT just cramping. There was a painful sting during the catheter insertion and when the contrast dye was administered. Your girl had to take some DEEP breaths and calm herself down. 😮‍💨 After the procedure, the CNM reviewed my preliminary results with me. Yay for open fallopian tubes! 🤍 One more piece of the puzzle. Next up, we’ll regroup with our doctor to review my labs, HSG results, and Chue Yee’s labs to figure out our next steps. And apparently, there’s some talk around the fertility clinic that some people get pregnant shortly after their HSG test! The thought is that flushing the tubes with contrast may help clear out mucus or minor debris. It’s not a guarantee, but hey, a girl can hope. 🤞🏼🤍 Full disclosure: Unfortunately, because of the sterile environment, I wasn’t able to take pictures of the procedure room.
