Lastweek, we were turned back from St. Ann’s Bay Hospital because they did not have the blood bags needed to take blood. When I asked when they would have them available, I could not even get an answer. This is heartbreaking and unacceptable. People should not have to travel to a hospital seeking medical care, only to be turned away because basic supplies are unavailable. What happens to the sick, the elderly, and those whose lives may depend on timely treatment? It is a shame when our loved ones are in need and we cannot even be assured that the healthcare system has the basic resources to help them. We need a healthcare system where essential supplies are available when they are needed not. At the end of the day, we continue to pray and put our trust in Elohim, because only God can help us and our loved ones. May God have mercy on Jamaica and strengthen everyone who is sick, their families.
