Any engine needs time for the engine oil to get moving and warm up

ok, this is fiction. unless yiu live in extreme conditions, start the car, put on your seat belt, adjust the stereo, and drive away carefully until your water temp is up to normal. as long as you're not going wide open out if the driveway, the oil is moving and protecting the engine almost immediately.

All engines need time to warm up. It’s not just Subaru. It’s weather dependent, the warmup time is going to be shorter in warmer months/times then when it’s colder out. I’m coming from the world of having driven Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, etc., and now I’m in a Subaru. The principal is the same across all brands, give the engine time to warm up before moving in colder temps as many times as you can to keep the vehicle’s engine and internals working for as long as possible

I have had Subarus for 10 years now.
(2015 Impreza, 2025 WRX now), and I have never waited for them to warm up longer then a minute.
Never had a problem as long as you keep the RPM <3k or so.
Driving the car is the easiest/best way to warm up the engine.
