@meghannmcuniff: Tupac Shakur was paying the living expenses of 17 families when he was killed, his sister told a judge today. "He was paying all of the bills, all of the rent, all of the food, clothes for at least I've counted them 17 different families at the age of 25, and he had started that when he was 17, 18," said Sekyiwa 'Set' Shakur. "He sent me, my aunt $50 a month in the beginning, just to contribute to the household that his sister was living in. To me, that's amazing example of a 20-year-old of a 19-year-old," she said. She said her son "was six months when he died." "His his father, his uncles were in that car procession that night. My younger cousins was in that car procession that night. Procession that night. My little brother was in a car procession that night, and none of these men in my family were the same again," she said. The "loss of Tupac for a long time crippled my entire family emotionally and mentally." I've been hospitalized multiple times for depression, suicidal ideation, and trauma, PTSD. My the family that we as we was raised, like I said, he was of the men in our in our family, and I finally had a child, which meant my son wouldn't have had to grow up the way the other men in my family did without having an elder man to support them and guide them, and that was taken away," she said. Judge Carli Kierny in Nevada's 8th Judicial District in Las Vegas sentenced Duane "Keffe D" Davis to 40 years to life in prison for his role in Tupac's murder. A jury convicted Davis of first-degree murder on Aug. 31; prosecutors say he was in the car on Sept. 7, 1996, when his nephew, Orlando Anderson, fired the fatal shot. Davis is a former gang member who worked as a law enforcement informant. His trial included testimony about protections offered to him by Los Angeles-based task force officers investigating the 1997 murder of Christopher "The Notorious BIG" Wallace that hindered Las Vegas police from arresting Davis for Tupac's murder. Sekyiwa spoke for 20 minutes. You can watch all of it on my Facebook page and YouTube channel. #law #crime #court
