According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Gurson Bahia and 25-year-old Dylan Lopez Kong were arrested following a reported home invasion on Sunday evening, October 11, 2026. Deputies responded to a residence near Vine Avenue and Walnut Avenue in Winton after receiving reports of a home invasion. The victim told deputies that two males allegedly forced their way into the residence and prevented her from leaving. The suspects reportedly fled before deputies arrived. Following a coordinated investigation, deputies, with assistance from the Merced Police Department and the Merced County Sheriff’s Office Sable 6 helicopter, located the suspects and their vehicle at a residence in the 1500 block of Hansen Avenue in Merced. Both men were taken into custody and booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of home invasion and false imprisonment, authorities said. The investigation remains ongoing.
