@aaroncrisler: It's been exactly seven weeks — 49 days — since we lost Dolly Parton, and I still don't think I've processed it. I can't believe she's gone. It doesn't feel real. I know it is, but somehow my heart and mind haven't quite caught up with that reality. I don't know when it will. I've spent so much time reflecting on what Dolly meant to me, not just as an entertainer I admired my entire life, but as someone whose kindness, generosity and belief in me changed the entire course of my life. Dolly Parton's YES completely changed my life. And i’m so grateful that I was blessed with the opportunity to look her in the eyes and tell her just how much she meant to me last August. I grew up a poor kid from a trailer park in Austell, Georgia, with dreams much bigger than the world around me. I started working in entertainment at 18 and eventually found myself performing at Dollywood. Standing on stage at a place Dolly created was already beyond anything that kid from Georgia could have imagined. And then, I dreamed bigger: I wanted to sing with Dolly. In 2003, I found the courage to ask, and she said yes. We recorded a duet together called "High and Mighty,” a Gospel song she wrote. Dolly's "yes" changed my life. It gave me wings of confidence I had never had before and made me believe that maybe the dreams I thought were too big for me weren't too big after all. I miss you, Dolly. But you’re still here. #dollyparton #gospel #gospelmusic #dollywood #fyp
