@domesticgoddess603: I stumbled upon this display while wandering through Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, and that enormous pumpkin stopped me right in my tracks. 🎃 The smaller pumpkins surrounding it look downright miniature. I enjoy a little seasonal decorating, but this is a level of commitment that requires a delivery plan! Behind this beautiful arrangement is Kiel James Patrick, the New England clothing and accessories brand with its flagship shop at 3 Bowen’s Wharf. Founders Kiel and Sarah Patrick started their business in 2008 with fabric bracelets made from old ties and fastened with brass buttons. They opened their first store here in June 2017, growing that small beginning into a brand built around classic coastal style, cozy sweaters, and New England traditions. Knowing that makes the entrance feel especially fitting. Orange, creamy white, and blue-gray pumpkins mingle with wonderfully odd-shaped gourds, while golden straw, colorful mums, and tall dried cornstalks fill the space around the white doorway. The gold anchor adds a nautical touch that belongs perfectly along Newport’s waterfront. There is so much to appreciate beyond the giant pumpkin stealing the spotlight. The shop pairs its clothing and accessories with vintage treasures, coastal antiques, and locally sourced New England goods, and the brand continues to handcraft its jewelry in Rhode Island. I appreciate learning that a storefront catching my eye has a creative local story behind it. Someone took the time to make this entrance a destination all its own, and it certainly earned a pause and a few photos from me.
