@faithworkstoday: From the Holy See Press Office — October 13, 2026: Pope Leo XIV underwent thoracic surgery today at Rome's Gemelli Hospital. To ensure the radical removal of the tumor, surgeons removed the lower lobe of his right lung using a video-assisted technique. Examination during the operation confirmed the diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma. "The surgery was successful, and there were no complications." The Holy Father woke up normally and has returned to his room on the tenth floor. He is expected to remain in the hospital about one week, and all audiences are canceled through October 20. On Sunday, he told us himself: "I entrust myself to your prayers." Holy Father, you have them. 🙏 Drop a 🙏 below and pray one Hail Mary for Pope Leo tonight. 📸 Marco Iacobucci Epp / Shutterstock Source: Holy See Press Office, via Vatican News #PrayForThePope #PopeLeoXIV #Catholic #Prayer #Faith
