@daisypinklove1: It took a jury less than a day to decide the fate of the two men who committed one of the most heinous crimes in Charlotte's history. But the chilling details left behind in that NoDa apartment will haunt the community forever. Justice Served: Life Without Parole for Lavi Pham and James Salerno On October 12, 2026, a Mecklenburg County jury delivered a swift and absolute wave of justice. Lavi Pham (27) and James “Jimmy” Salerno (26) were officially found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and concealment of a death. Judge Karen Eady-Williams did not hold back, immediately sentencing both men to life in prison without the possibility of parole, calling it one of the "worst, most heinous, most evil" cases she had ever encountered on the bench. The trial laid bare the terrifying reality of what happened in March 2020 inside an apartment nestled in Charlotte’s popular NoDa arts district. Prosecutors proved that 20-year-old Mary Collins, a young woman who lived with cognitive and developmental delays, was intentionally lured to the apartment under the guise of friendship. Once inside, she was drugged, brutally tortured, and stabbed over 130 times. In a desperate bid to cover up their horrific acts, the group wrapped Mary’s body in duct tape, hollowed out a bed mattress to hide her inside, and continued to use drugs and party in the apartment for days while her frantic family searched for her. While Pham wept as the verdict was read and Salerno mouthed a final "I'm sorry" to his mother, Mary’s family remains focused on keeping her memory alive. Her grandmother, Mia Alderman, shared a powerful message of relief outside the courtroom, noting that this final verdict is the reckoning the community desperately needed. This conclusion follows the 2022 guilty plea of co-defendant Kelly Lavery, who is currently serving up to 32 years, while a fourth individual involved is expected to stand trial later this year. #MaryCollins #Prayer #Share #Trending #Awareness
