I’m so sorry you’re going through this, I truly would not wish this on my worst enemy. I was worried I would miss a sign or do it too early, I didn’t believe my husband when he told me “we’ll know”, but he was right. Odie just wasn’t himself, he had been going downhill for a while by that point but that day it’s like he wasn’t there anymore. His little body was, but he wasn’t in there. When I picked him up he laid his head on my shoulder and let me know it was time. I don’t know if this helps at all but I hope you know you’re in my thoughts. 🫂

He told me, I can't describe it otherwise. His eyes told me he was ready. If you can, do it at home with a mobile vet service when he is ready 🫶🏼✨

Sadly, it came to him not eating.. barely wanting to walk. Him not finding joys in everyday stuff anymore. It was extremely tough. if you make that call, make a day ALL about them! a special day! and know they love you and understand!

I’ve heard more than one vet say that owners hang on too long. There is nothing more devastating than putting your pet down bc YOU have to pick the time. Our dog (12) was blind, diabetic, started to get too mouthy and not allowed to be around our baby bc of it. Then we moved to a new house. We put him down before we moved

For about 5 yrs I unintentially ran a pet senior home. Our 2 cats and 3 dogs all came a diff times,but all were about the same age. It was so hard,but so so so rewarding. It was a little diff with each,but when the time came I just knew. I could almost feel their energy shift and could tell they were tired. There are also tangable checklists where you can say they are here but if they lose x,y,z tue quality of life will be too bad. Usually made when you arent in the moment of decision. 💙

I never thought I would know when it was time. My baby showed me when it was time. He looked at me in a certain way, and I knew. Your pup will let you know, follow their lead

She couldn't get up anymore. She had been fighting cancer for years. The saddest part was she was still eating and drinking fine. I just couldn't pick her up every 4 hours to potty outside. She was 75 lbs. I miss her every day, she was my best friend 🧡
