@ksbw_8: A swimmer died at Sand Dollar Beach on the Big Sur coast after being reported missing and found on the rocks during a search and recovery effort, according to firefighters. Big Sur Fire Chief Matt Harris said the victim was first reported missing just after 1 p.m. Crews searched for about 20 minutes before locating the man on the rocks. Multiple agencies, including the Coast Guard, responded to the scene, with the Coast Guard deploying a helicopter to assist in the search. Once the victim was found, crews pulled him from the rocks and immediately began CPR, but he did not survive. First responders are urging people to exercise caution along the coast due to current ocean conditions. "The ocean is unforgiving, you know. And right now, especially with the large tidal movements. And right now we have a pretty good-sized northwest swell. The rocks are very slippery. The swell is very powerful. And just to be careful and know you know your limitations," Harris said. Officials emphasized the importance of paying attention to ocean conditions before entering the water. The circumstances leading up to the man's death remain under investigation.

MiaEvans :
This is so sad. There had been many warnings on the news and even if you have been there before, this is not the time to go into the water along our coastline.
