@kyserblade68: EXECUTION UPDATE: James Robertson, 63, was executed in Florida on October 13, 2026, and was pronounced dead at 12:32 p.m. ET after receiving a three-drug lethal injection at Florida State Prison. Robertson was sentenced to death for the 2008 murder of his cellmate, Frank Hart, at Charlotte Correctional Institution. According to court records, Robertson strangled Hart and later admitted that he committed the murder because he wanted to be sentenced to death rather than continue serving life in prison under harsh prison conditions. Hart was reportedly only eight days away from being released when he was killed. Robertson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and waived his appeals, repeatedly indicating that he wanted his death sentence carried out. His case drew national attention because prosecutors were dealing with an extremely unusual situation: a defendant who said the possibility of execution did not deter him — he claimed it was actually part of his motive. Nearly 18 years after Hart’s murder, Robertson’s sentence was carried out. His execution became Florida’s 17th execution of 2026. What do you think about this case? Should someone who commits murder specifically hoping to receive the death penalty still be executed? #JamesRobertson #ExecutionWatch #DeathPenalty #TrueCrime #FloridaNews

When someone is due to be released within weeks or months of getting f out they should be out into protected custody. For fear of someone screwing it up for them

The time periods for death I reckon it’s the last bit of humane punishment of isolation so they slap on decades sometimes. Then off em.

When he specifically asked for the death penalty they should have been more accommodating than 18 years. I would think 18 days would be enough time
