The CIA was just on a world tour in the 60s and 70s. Every single nation that we did this to, has gone to shit. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, South America. We keep meddling in foreign affairs, installing governments, funding and arming proxies, and then years down the road turn around and blame their religion and culture for them being problematic. Years of destabilization and death at the hands of the US, and we wonder why all these nations and factions despise America.

As an aside I listened to an account of “Dame” Daphne Park, a British MI6 agent, who was deployed to Congo and tasked with getting inside Lumumba’s inner circle. Her betrayal of him is what culminated in his assassination, she was given a Damehood for her services to the Crown 🤮
