day in the life of a marketing lead in new york. 🧺🦢 it’s been such a hectic transition, and commuting into an office has been an interesting change of pace. there’s so much context you pick up just by being around your coworkers, and i’m realizing how much that changes the way you work. something i’ve been thinking about lately is dedication and drive. since moving here, i’ve had people ask how i started creating content because they want to go viral or grow a following. i understand wanting that, but i think it helps to have a reason to create that can carry you through the time before any of that happens. when i first started, it was during covid. i had just graduated and knew i wanted to work in creative marketing, but tiktok was taking off and i had zero experience making short-form videos. i felt like there was a gap between the marketer i wanted to be and the skills i actually had, so i started creating to learn. for a long time, i didn’t have much of a following. it took me finding my own style, understanding what i enjoyed making, and consistently doing that before i started gaining momentum. having something to learn gave me a reason to keep going when there wasn’t external validation. i care about growth, and i take a lot of pride in what i post. each vlog can take almost 60 clips of footage alone. but if how a video performs determines how i feel about creating, it becomes hard to appreciate everything i’m learning in the process. working professionally in marketing, content creation has also become a way to put what i know into practice. building my own personal brand has taught me things i bring back into my work, and my work gives me things to think about and share here. some days i work for 10 to 13 hours, come home, and edit in bed with the lights off. i keep making time for it because i enjoy it, and looking back at my old videos reminds me how much i’ve grown as both a creator and a professional. this account is my public diary, long captions and all, and i’m still figuring things out as i go. if you’ve been wanting to start, maybe ask yourself what you’d enjoy learning or sharing before the following comes. for me, wanting to become a better marketer was enough to get started, and finding content i loved making kept me going. i think giving yourself something to gain from the process makes it easier to keep showing up while the rest takes time. 🤍 be kind everyone! #Vlog #workvlog #asmr #dayinthelife #dayinmylife - @lnparkx
