So do they just want the players to sit in silence and not say anything? I don’t understand this gimmick of players not being able to speak up. Martinez is 100% correct in what he said because the signings were very poor. Now I know Martinez hasn’t been playing very well but that doesn’t mean he can say what’s on his mind.

You are not even understanding what he is saying. Y’all are just creating new narratives. He is just talking about how good they were last season and this seasons ambition was to compete for the top titles and to do that you need to buy quality players. We all knew our top midfield options last season were Anderson, Tonali, Fernandes, and we got who? Plan C in Tielemans and co. These teams are in the UCL to compete to win it that’s the players ambition but the board are not investing to match that ambition they are investing to just compete for another one game per week.

But that doesn’t take away anything that’s he’s saying. Should he have to say those things? He doesn’t need to be the best to call out the issues at the club … yes he has been rubbish …true… but it’s also true that we got into champions league but our bench is filled with players we tried to get rid off and the rest of the bench is kids… we haven’t filled the team out enough to manage 2-3 games a week … the board let this team down especially after they really did everything they could to get us champions league and then the board doesn’t invest in more players

the lack of investment last season was okay as they weren't in any major competition but this season their in champions league so the investment had to reflect that but it clearly didnt cant expect good results based of minimal investment
