Put a full ledge on the wall not seen! Then you get the storage and the clutter can’t be seen when someone walks in the bathroom. Signed, a realtor.

Had my shower redone the past spring. Love the niche my contractor put in.

Ledge allows for any height for products and easier to clean, but put it on the hidden wall 100%

We’re doing the same building and selling. One day we’ll have a brand new house no mortgage also my husband’s a tile guy. We’re doing a full length niche.

Niche or ledge on the inside of the wall we can’t see. But also put a ledge on the wall you want with the aesthetic items you want

Don't forget a bench or small corner lower ledge you can shave your legs on. My wife also wanted it heated under the tile and a drain that wasn't in the middle of the pan floor. She loved it! Niche was what she enjoyed but slightly beveled so the water drains out but product stays put. Spray wand helps get water into niche to clean and a squeegee helps wipe water away. Let me know what you do🙂

What about instead of a pedge or niche that’s full length of the wall, what if you split it and had them at different levels if that makes sense? So you can still put any products up there but doesn’t feel as cluttered with them all lined and could be like a his/hers for y’all’s products!

Ledge on the inside wall/walls so it’s unseen from the rest of the bathroom

Do a niche instead of just a ledge. Provides more character. Add a bench on one end as well.

either would be fine for me BUT if you choose niche please make sure its atleast 14 inches tall. when you buy bulk products (with a pump) its tall enough. But I also like thr idea of putting it on the wall opposite of the shower head so its not seen

I’m a GC and build multi-million dollar homes in Park City, UT. I’ve seen a thing or two over the past ten years. I’d recommend a niche with LED strip lighting on the top to cast down. Consider a “foot niche” 8-12” above the floor as well. Niches look intentional, ledges look like there is something in the wall they are hiding.

Hate the standard niche. Too small for my liking. If I had to do over again when building, I’d do one the full length like your second inspo pics!

Niche! Do the extra though and put the niche light in too!

BUT… think about the air venting system that is on a timer to dry all the tiles and walls after showering. Set it and forget it. Now is the time to build it in. And a niche for the leg shaving. ;-)

If you do a niche I would make it very large, like your inspo photos. I’ve seen so many that aren’t tall or deep enough for products

This is what I’ve always wanted to do , for me because I don’t like the mess. Hear me out… niche, but with like medicine cabinet tile faces so you can also close it off. Do like a little grip on the bottom so you can open them up… I will do a quick Pinterest surge and see if this is the thing and if so, I’ll come back in comment!!

I am voting ledge. I think easier to clean and you could put it on the wall that is not in your face.

Did you see the rounded corner niches? That way water cant collect in the corners.

I’d do a ledge or niche on the side so when people look in the shower it’s not bam in your face all the different products and will look cleaner in my opinion.
