When Sifuna was touring Homa Bay, I did not go because, honestly, I smelled danger from a distance! One of the ladies he appointed yesterday to the Linda Mwananchi communication secretariat was there with him, facing goons armed with pangas. Some of these ladies from the Kikuyu community were right there when things got dangerous, standing with Sifuna while others could only watch from a distance. Later, Hon. Majimbo Kalasinga narrated to me the terrifying ordeal one lady from Mt Kenya went through. According to his account, she was surrounded by goons with pangas who wanted to kill her. Her driver had already been slashed and was lying on the ground going to sayuni. The lady, who has never publicly narrated the full ordeal, reportedly survived after showing the attackers photographs she had taken with the late Raila Odinga in 2022. Even then, one of the goons allegedly demanded close to KSh 200,000, threatening that she would suffer the same fate as her driver. Imagine going through such an experience simply because you chose to stand with a political movement! Now let me tell you where some of us from Sifuna's own community were during that Homa Bay tour. I was comfortably seated in my house in Bungoma, enjoying ugali and a thigh of ingokho. Some of us were not even enjoying our meals properly because we were busy checking whether the doors were firmly locked, just in case one of those goons from Homa Bay decided to run all the way to Bungoma with a panga! Let these ladies be! They have sacrificed for Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi. Disclaimer: I'm not a coward if Sifuna decides to go back to Homabay I will go. - @wantam.battalion
