Just had a full thyroidectomy for follicular cancer, four weeks ago. I’m 46 mom of three my brother died a year ago of cancer. I know how scary this feels. You can and will get through this. Take each day at a time, do your research, ask questions and advocate for yourself.

The doctors didn’t know I had thyroid cancer until pathology report came back but they said it was small and that I should be fine. That was in December but now all my symptoms are starting to come back and my thyroglobulin is starting to go back up which is the markers for thyroid cancer. On the 20th I go back in for another test to see if it went up more. I was feeling great since my thyroid was removed. If they want to only do half thyroid removal don’t just tell them to remove it all

I’m 34, had my total thyroidectomy back in May for papillary thyroid cancer. It took a few months but I got my dosage of meds right and now I feel great. I had some of the same symptoms as you, night sweats especially. Haven’t had one since my surgery. I have more energy than before as well. I wish you the best 🩷

You and me both. I found out 9/23 and I still am just like “I’m really casually walking around with cancer” 😅 I don’t want to say it out loud anymore..bc then I have to remember I DO in fact have cancer. I just want it outttt!!!

I wish my surgeon emphasized more what would happen if my vocal nerve was damaged. I could barely speak for 3 months, no projection whatsoever. Aspirating when drinking, out of breath when speaking, or even just walking. I went to speech therapy. Just had a vocal fold injection. My voice is better now but probably because I was doing at home voice therapy exercises through YouTube videos since day 1 of my surgery. I will more than likely need a permanent implant if found to be permanently paralyzed at 12 months.

I was 21 and 2 weeks post partum June 2025 when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. They told me I was going to be dead by Christmas of that year. But here I am. 12 rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy here I am! I’m in remission as of August 7th 2026! If u look at my profile picture it’s actually a wig!
