Violet is the daughter of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who ded by Sicide in 2017. She was 15 at the time. She says she didn’t really get into music until after his passing. She says she learned from watching the band work in the studio. “They would lock themselves in the studio all day,” she said. “So that’s how I do it, too.” She also opened up about a hard stretch. She says she had two S*icide attempts last December. She then spent 90 days in treatment, in Nashville and California. She says doctors found she is bipolar. She credits her medications and cutting back on drinking and Sm*king. “I feel a lot healthier, a lot clearer, a lot more mentally happier,” she said. She wrote “Follow Your Heart” with Cass Dillon. She calls it “an anthem to myself.” She hopes anyone can chant it, even outside the queer community. She thinks her father would be supportive. “You’re creating art.
