Stupid take. Rotto is about being there with friends and family and enjoying the kids being safe. It has a nostalgic feel. It’s not just about the beach.

Agree totally. Rotto in the old days was affordable to everyone. Now absolutely overpriced and affordable to the rich only. Main reason Bali is Perths holiday hotspot.

Waki beach (Waikiki) a lil further down than shoalwater is the best swimming beach. Shoalwater can get too seaweedy, rocky foreshore is good too but Waikiki and warnbro are my favourite 😊 I haven’t been to rotto in a few years, it was fun when I was a kid, as an adult it was meh

When I lived in Perth in the late 80s I got my rental bike 'repossessed' on Rottnest for doing wheelies! I was eleven! Fair point, I was interrupting people on holiday. 🤣
